THE OBSERVATION

A truly dark sky is becoming something you have to seek out.

Away from artificial light, the night opens wider. More stars become visible, constellations sharpen, and the landscape settles into rhythms that daylight—and bright human environments—often hide.

Preserve the Night is about protecting that darkness as part of the wilderness itself.

Not simply because a star-filled sky is beautiful, but because night is habitat. It shapes migration, navigation, feeding, reproduction, and the daily cycles of countless species.

Darkness is not empty space between days. It is an ecosystem of its own.

THE ARTIFACT

The oversized back graphic combines a celestial observation chart with constellation mapping, a remote mountain landscape, field data, coordinates, and archival notes.

Rendered almost entirely in weathered antique gold against black, the piece has the feel of an old astronomical survey chart recovered from a wilderness field station.
