WARNING PATTERN

THE ARTIFACT

Across leaf litter, bark, and broken light, the copperhead’s pattern does more than conceal. Its hourglass markings interrupt the outline of the body until animal and forest floor begin to occupy the same shape.

Field Note No. 022 records a warning hidden inside camouflage. The pattern is not designed to announce itself from a distance, but to remain unnoticed until proximity changes the meaning of the encounter.

What first appears decorative is, in fact, a boundary written into the landscape.

THE GARMENT

Printed as a full-color archival back graphic on a premium garment-dyed heavyweight black tee. Copperhead patterning, field diagrams, specimen details, and weathered notes are rendered in muted rust, clay, antique gold, bark brown, and deep charcoal.

The dark ground and distressed archival structure give the artwork the character of a recovered wildlife study plate while preserving the snake pattern as the dominant visual element.

Designed with a relaxed unisex fit and a substantial, lived-in feel.
